Talk Money Week at school

Created in collaboration with The Story Project and with help from children’s author Robert Tregoning, explore the relationship between money and wellbeing.

The Story Project are a social enterprise dedicated to improving children’s future wellbeing through the magic of storytelling. We are delighted to partner with them and share this approach to financial education for Talk Money Week.

Based on the fantastic book, The Dress in the Window children will explore objectives that champion second-hand shopping, saving, community, empathy and kindness.

This resource includes:

  • A teacher guide, containing curriculum links, helpful guidance and additional resource links.

  • Two lessons with activities, questions and imagery in a powerpoint format.

Lesson 1

I can tell you how to save for something I would like to buy, including alternative ways to get something I want.

Delve into topics with your class around money, saving and buying items by using the themes in the book using a variety of engaging activities.

Lesson 2

I can tell you how I show respect to other people’s interests

Explore emotional wellbeing when it comes to money, friendship and how we can respects others with their choices or interests.
